Why PowerNow Exists
In Kerala, electricity touches every household every single day. Yet, the rules that govern how bills are calculated, why charges surge suddenly, and what consumers are entitled to remain trapped in dense, multi-page regulatory PDFs published by the Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC).
When consumers receive a bill that doubles unexpectedly, they are often left confused. Official tools provide numbers without explanation; social media feeds circulate rumors; and local section offices are overwhelmed during storm disruptions.
PowerNow (working project code name) was created by FirstBridge Studios as an independent, public-service digital utility. We translate complex tariff orders, Supply Code clauses, and statutory procedures into simple, interactive tools and transparent guides that any citizen can understand in 2 minutes.
Our Operating Philosophy
1. Mathematical Transparency
Every calculator line item—from the 250-unit non-telescopic cliff to the 10% statutory duty—is completely transparent. No hidden black boxes.
2. Zero Commercial Bias
PowerNow runs zero affiliate advertisements, collects no commissions from electrical equipment brands, and does not harvest consumer credentials.
3. Independent & Parallel Utility
PowerNow operates as an enduring public web utility providing instant, zero-friction clarity for all Kerala citizens, developed in parallel with private, local-first intelligence tools sharing the same governed regulatory research.
4. Consumer-Side Focus
PowerNow serves the consumer's right to understand their power, billing, and statutory rights. It is not an activist platform, not a complaint filing proxy, and strictly independent from KSEBL and KSERC.
