1. What Kind of Outage Are You Experiencing?

Follow this 3-step check before reporting to distinguish internal wiring issues from KSEB grid faults.

Tier 1

Home / Internal Fault

Neighbors on either side have power, but your house is dark.

• Check your main distribution board ELCB/RCCB switch.
• Look for a tripped MCB or overloaded circuit.
• Check if your single-phase service wire has blown its main cutout fuse.
Recommended: Call an authorized licensed electrician.
Tier 2

Transformer (DTR) Fault

Your immediate street or lane has no power, but streets two blocks away are lit.

• 11kV/415V transformer HT or LT fuse blown.
• Jumper wire snapped due to branch contact.
• Transformer overload or phase imbalance.
Recommended: Call 1912 and report DTR number on pole.
Tier 3

11kV Feeder / Substation

The entire neighborhood, streetlights, and commercial shops are without electricity.

• 11kV or 66kV/110kV feeder trip at the substation.
• Tree fall on main feeder trunk line during rain.
• Scheduled LSGD maintenance or KSEB load shedding.
Recommended: Check KSEB official handles; log call on 1912.
